Emotional Clothes
| By Marjorie Morgan
Grief often slips
between the stitches
and becomes a
second skin
for an eternity.
Comfort hugs tightly
like a baby swaddled
in a purple blanket
whilst a parent is absent
or gone … for good.
Love is loose and free
with room to breathe
and dance in all corners
of every room
like a free-wheeling ballerina
floating on
an invisible permanent smile.
Layers upon layers
of emotional clothes
worn around hearts
and sometimes seen
on bodies
when the light shines right.
